Para iniciar mostraremos como se usa can y posteriormente usaremos CAN con WH.

NEGATIVE STATEMENTS IN PAST TENSE

Use the auxiliary did + not, or its contracted form, didn’t + the simple form of your verb:

I had
 I didn’t have
I didn’t have fun at the game
You came
You didn’t come
You didn’t come to the movies
She went
She didn’t go
She didn’t go dancing on Friday


Para el verbo to be utilizamos was para los pronombre I, he, she, it y para you, we y they utilizamos were

Para su negación es: wasn’t or weren’t

He wasn’t happy about the trip



Yes/No questions in Past Tense


Afirmative  

I paid

Afirmative:    I paid

Negative  :     I didn´t pay

Question:       Did I paid  




Wh- Questions in Simple Past

What did you cook last night?

Whose motorcycle  did you  take yesterday?









More go + gerund:




go + gerund to refer to recreational activities performed during a trip or short vacation. In every-day English, though, the verb GO is used in several combinations to talk about activities people normally do in their free time, specially on weekends:




for + noun/noun phrase   
a walk
a cup of coffee
drinks
They went for drinks in the night
to + noun/noun phrase


the park
the beach
the game
You went to the beach on Saturday
out for + noun
dinner
lunch
They went out for lunch on saturday
gerund
shopping
dancing
jogging

Use the combination go + gerund to refer to recreational activities performed during a trip or short vacation


el uso de going to + infinitivo para representar planes e intenciones del futuro.  En estas situaciones, siempre se usa go en presente continuo – I’m going; He’s going; We’re going; etc. – pero go seguido de gerundio  no tiene esa limitación.
Go seguido de gerundio se usa para referirse a algún tipo de actividad, normalmente de índole deportiva.  Fíjate en que go en este contexto se traduce al español no sólo como ir sino también como hacer.  Por ejemplo:
to go runningir a correr
to go jogginghacer footing
to go swimmingir a nadar

PAST TENSE




the Past Tense is used to talk about something that started and finished at a definite time in the past.

The past tense of the verb want is wanted.
Wanted is used as the past tense for all subjects/pronouns.
  • I wanted
  • You wanted
  • He wanted
  • She wanted
  • It wanted
  • We wanted
  • They wanted

To change a regular verb into its past tense form, we normally add –ED to the end of the verb.
  • play – played
  • wait – waited






Recommendations with should






When you give a recommendation, you normally start with I think….or I believe….or she thinks….or someone believes…. For example:

I think you should change the chair in your home

negative sentences with should use shouldn’t:

shouldn’t + simple form

You shouldn’t take the test if you haven’t studied.
